The (cash) purchase of foreign currencies (so-called cash transaction) is possible in any amount at Reisebank. Please note that we are obligated to comply with legal regulations:

When making cash payments exceeding 2,500 euros, you are required to provide proof of origin for the money (e.g., bank statement with evidence of a recent withdrawal, relevant receipt). In some cases, proof of source may also be required for smaller amounts.

Generally, our branches offer up to 100 currencies. To ensure that the selected branch has the currency you need in stock on your desired pickup date, we recommend contacting the branch in advance. Our tip: You can find the largest selection of exotic currencies at our airport branches. It's also worth checking with the branch there.

In our branches, we strive to accommodate all denomination preferences. For instance, when exchanging a larger quantity of US Dollars, you can select several 1-dollar bills for tips. For larger amounts and exotic currencies, it is advisable to inquire about the desired denominations in the selected branch beforehand.

To provide you with our currency exchange service around the clock, we have set up several self-service branches (SB branches) throughout Germany. You can find the SB branches near you using our location search and selecting 'SB branch'.

With the Reisebank Mastercard, you can make convenient cashless payments at around 80 million acceptance points worldwide. You can also easily withdraw cash in the respective local currency. Your card is provided without a SCHUFA query and without proof of income, available for immediate pickup at your nearest Reisebank branch. Identification is done on-site at the branch.
